Harvey DuPriest Sr. began his career as a commercial signmaker in 1933. In 1952 he opened his own card shop in downtown Dallas, and he hired his daughter Shirley to help run the business. During the day he could be seen making deliveries on his motor scooter with side car, and he produced the work at night and on weekends.
In coming years, sons Harvey Jr. and Benny would join the company, and it was then that screen printing became part of the sign making process. Using swiss silk stretched over wooden frames, multiple prints were produced on hand pulled press tables.
The company eventually outgrew the original shop and moved to a bigger building just South of downtown. A fire completely destroyed the building in 1969, but with the help of suppliers and even competitors, operations continued and the plant was rebuilt.
As business grew, so did the building. Today, our 39,000 square foot facility houses some of the most advanced equipment available in the screen & digital printing industry. This includes several multiple-color automatic screen presses, digital presses, and the latest advancements in pre-press technology.
The DuPriest family currently has several third generation family members employed with the company, continuing a tradition of quality service and customer care that has put the DuPriest Company at the top of the printing industry for more than 50 years.
